At one time or another, almost everyone wants to lose weight really fast. Our weight creeps up on us and then we realize that we have a big event to go to or a new outfit to fit into, and it is time to go on a quick diet. This kind of dieting, although effective in the short run, is not generally a good idea, and it is certainly not something that you want to do on a regular basis.

Of course, if you can avoid it, you never really want to put yourself in a position where you need to lose weight really fast. The easiest and quickest way to do this is through the use of a “cleansing” diet. This type of diet will rid your body of all contents of your intestinal system, eliminating all the excess waste in your colon and bowels, but it will also leave you dehydrated. This dehydration, however, works in your favor as it results in even more weight loss.

You can also lose weight fast by reducing your liquid intake and working out excessively, but again, this is not healthy and the weight loss will only be water weight that will come back on again the next time you drink liquids.

In general, unless you need to lose just a pound or two in a few days, you will have to take a more long-term approach to weight loss that involves healthy eating, proper nutritional supplements, and physical activity.
